Luna Safwan is a communication specialist currently running the communications Unit in IRD (International relief & development) Lebanon. She has previously worked as a Reporter/Editor and multimedia journalist for the New Arab.
Her past stories include covering the Syrian revolution, ISIS & the refugee’s crisis between Lebanon and Turkey.
Luna’s past projects include an award winning documentary and short audiovisual reports, her documentary about the Syrian Refugees on the Lebanese Syrian borders won the Samir Kassir Award for the Freedom of Press in 2013. Other projects from Lebanon include audiovisual stories about the Palestinian camps in Beirut.
In 2016, Luna was awarded a Leadership fellowship from the Swedish Institute in Stockholm/ Sweden. Also, she previously reported for NOW Lebanon, Future news and Arabs Think.
Born and raised Beirut, Lebanon, she now works between Beirut and Turkey.
